We love our: cabin luggage

Horizn Studios

The context: we'd quit our jobs and sent ourselves to Turkey for a month to get Ma Nourriture up and running. We figured there's nothing like losing your salary to get you up and at it, and nowhere like Turkey where you can save money in club med style.

The problem: Looking the part for a month while flying budget, i.e. no checked in luggage.

The solution: A girl's best friend in the shape of a carry-on from Horizn Studios. It is a work of art really. Bestie used to have a gorgeous little French number that we thought was IT for style, until we met this little lady. And she's a tough cookie too.

She just never says no, and makes it look effortless. No buckling, no stretched zip stitching. Mine has a nifty corset (aka compression belts) that help you squeeze more in, but even bestie's was like a Mary Poppin's bag.

We love the thoughtful convenience of the powerbank (in mine) and the easy-access pockets for our laptops, travel wallets and books. That compartment is a little tighter than it looks and does form funny bulges. But hey, we've all got our 'lovely lady lumps'!

I've always assumed wheels were wheels on these things. I was wrong. Running over cobbles, around corners, up stairs, off escalators this classy lady glides gracefully. I'm glad one of us does.

Sustainability

The main material is polycarbonate, a sustainable material with minimal environmental impact that's produced with careful containment and treatment of emissions. It's also fully and easily recyclable at the end of its life. But the lining is nylon, which is vegan but not usually sustainable (we've asked for more info). Horizn Studios are passionate about design and engineering and proud of their global footprint. We worry about the carbon impact of their globetrotting, as we do about our own.

Beautiful, thoughtful design

Sturdy, uncompromising quality

The most sustainable option so far
