Dairy-Free Custard

Ma Nourriture

Custard, who doesn't love this delicisousness?

Served warm or cold with cake or without.

And what more heavenly than homemade custard. We stayed away from custard because, of the dairy in it, so we tried a recipe and replaced it with Oat milk!

Oh Boy, we think its better than the normal. Try if for yourself and tell us!

  3 tbsp

Eggs large

            4

Caster sugar

(100g) 250ml

Double cream

(203g) 200ml

Oat Milk

(725g) 700ml

(5g) 5ml 1 tsp

Allergens: eggs

Method

First

THE BOILING

  1. In a large pan, combine cream and milk and bring to boil

Next

THE OTHER BITS

2. In a large bowl, separate eggs, and then combine the egg yolks with cornflour, sugar and vanilla.

Then

3. Gradually, combine the hot milk mixture from the pan to the bowl of flour and sugar mix

Lastly, and happily

This is where the work comes in, a real arm workout and some good music

4. Pour the combined mixture back into the pan, over medium heat, stirring continuously with a wooden spoon until a thick custard texture is formed

  • Be careful here, as it becomes thick very quickly and then lumps starts to form.
  • You have a small window where the thickness turns to lumps

Serve warm, with whatever topping you can think of, we went with dark chocolate

Profitez!
